Children show value of chatter

It was dressing up day for children at the Kiddycare Day Nursery in Burstwick last Wednesday as they took part in activities to help raise funds and awareness for a children's communication charity.

An interactive storytelling and dramatic play class, especially written for this year's I Can Chatterbox Challenge, was based on the theme Elf and Fairy Party. Local Debutots owner and mum, Emma Booth, helped the youngsters to explore the special story of Twinkle Fairy and the Midnight Feast.

One in 10 children in the United Kingdom have communication difficulties, skills that are essential for life and for learning. Without these skills, children can struggle to make friends, understand the world
around them and achieve their full potential.

I Can's Chatterbox Challenge is an annual event for children aged 0 to five across the UK, raising both awareness and money for I Can's work with children who struggle to communicate.
