"Laura captivates the children by enriching their imaginations via role play, stories, singing, dancing and bubbles! My now 11 month old has been going for almost three months and we both really enjoy the relaxed, welcoming environment that Laura has created for children and grown- ups to enjoy."

Mum to Isla, 1

I have been a fan of Debutots Storytelling and drama classes since I became a practitioner for Jennifer’s North London franchise 6-years ago! The Debutots ethos, the wonderful worlds and characters in the stories and the way the children are given creative freedom to explore the theme and story in the retelling is just so special!

I saw how quieter children would gain confidence and start to speak more words clearly over the term or how children with so much energy would learn to focus and concentrate better and how they all so brilliantly worked in a group to share the world of the story!

I always used to say that running Debutots sessions each week was“good for my soul”. Now I get to bring those sessions to Hertfordshire and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it!

I have always been passionate about how children and young people can develop their self-confidence, communication skills and creativity through the arts - particularly drama. That is why since graduating with a drama degree in 2003 I have been a drama practitioner and worked for a charity dedicated to using the arts for social development for disadvantaged children and young people.

When I became a mother, I took my daughter to Debutots parent and child classes and experienced the other side of the class – connection and fun with my baby as we explored imaginary worlds, became imaginary characters and made real new friends in the sociable atmosphere.

The best thing about Debutots is that as the children grow, so does the capacity for learning - exploring important themes, emotions, interactions, communication and even traditional festivals in an imaginative, actively involving way.

Debutots is a fantastic addition for children’s centres, nurseries and schools. Each session is carefully planned to link to the EYFS, Key Stage 1 and 2 with accompanying creative learning packs to continue the fun.

Speak to me about our themed parties – tailor-made for the special birthday Boy or Girl and full of activities that they will always remember!

I’m looking forward to sharing the Debutots magic with you soon!

Ben and Holly visit Debutots!!!

In July we were very lucky to get a special visit from Ben and Holly as part of the Charity ICAN Chatterbox Challenge!
The Welwyn Garden City family story play class and Barn Close Preschool children absolutel loved them (and us adults did too!).

ICAN Charity Chatterbox Challenge.
On Monday 29th February in our Monday parent and Child class, we will be having a special Elf and Fairy session to raise awareness and fundraise for the ICAN Children’s Communication Charity. If your little ones (or you!) would like to dress up as an Elf or Fairy to enjoy the day, that would be wonderful! We will be doing some extra activities and there will be a wonderful Fairy-tastic story and fairy-cakes too! If you or your friends/relatives would like to make a donation on the day, that will also be much appreciated and will go towards a fantastic cause!
